What to visit in Gozo

Gozo is among the most evocative islands in the Mediterranean thanks to its unspoiled nature, rugged coasts and very high cliffs, without forgetting the charm of its history.
According to Omero’s myth, it is on this island that the nymph Calypso held Ulysses a prisoner for years.
A holiday here allows you to discover dream bays and places that have stood still in time in which tranquility and silence are the masters.

Gozo: nature and culture meet

Second most important island of the Maltese archipelago, Gozo perfectly combines historical and cultural riches and natural beauties.
Despite its small size, there is no shortage of places to visit and above all to admire.

The Salt Pans

On the northern side of Gozo, the coast is characterized by the ancient salt pans carved into the rock that jut out into the sea. 350 years old, they stretch for about 3km, offering a unique spectacle.

Sanctuary of Ta 'pinu

The basilica of Ta 'Pinu is Malta's most famous pilgrimage site and the deepest testimony of the archipelago's spirituality.
It boasts a legendary history of miracles and apparitions that give it an aura of great mystery.

La Cittadella

Also known as the Great Castle, The Citadel of Victoria is a recently restored small fortified town.
Among its streets are the main historical and cultural attractions of Gozo, such as the Cathedral of Assunta, the Basilica of San Giorgio and the Gardens of Villa Rundle.

Temples of Ġgantija

The Temples of Ġgantija, one of the main archaeological sites of the Maltese archipelago, are located in the small village of Xagħra.
The name derives from the legend that tells of giant inhabitants with such strength that they can move 50-ton megaliths.
Built between 3600 and 3200 BC, today they are a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Dwejra Bay

Dwejra Bay is undoubtedly one of the most evocative settings on the island. Born millions of years ago, following the collapse of two limestone caves, it is a wonderful natural treasure, whose geological phenomena have given birth to incredibly beautiful natural views. Although its most famous attraction, the Azure Window, no longer exists, it is still a place not to be missed: the Inland Sea, the Fungus Rock or the Blue Hole are undoubtedly worth a stop.
